A friend of my daughter took a nice picture of her little boy and I just had to try painting it. So here he is! My little working guy is finished!

Une amie de ma fille a pris une photo de son petit bonhomme. Aussitôt que je l'ai vue, j'ai eu envie de la peindre. Et bien le voilà! J'ai terminé! Mon petit travailleur est fini!

Wild bouquet

Well hello and welcome back to my Blog! Hope 2009 will bring you joy and give you the time to stop and smell the roses! I forgot to post one painting last year and it is the one that I've done in a day! Yap! 7 hours! Last November, I went to one of Jerry's Artarama Events in North Carolina called The "Art of Carolinas 2008". I had the opportunity to work with James Sulkowski one of the finest in painting still life and flowers (click on his name to visit is web site). So here is the finished product of my workshop called "Wild Bouquet".

J'ai oublié de mettre une peinture que j'ai faite en novembre dernier lors d'un événement en Caroline du Nord commandité par Jerry's Artarama qui s'intitule "Art of Carolinas 2008". J'ai eu la chance de travailler avec James Sulkowski qui, d'après moi, est un des meilleurs artistes pour la peinture des natures mortes et des fleurs et bouquets (cliquez sur son nom pour visiter sa page web). Voilà le produit final de mon atelier intitulé "Wild bouquet".

Pink Wallflowers

This one is my latest. It is a watercolour reproduction of Charles Penny. I found out that recreating watercolour in oil is a major task! It is oil on canvas and it's titled "Pink Wallflowers".


Je viens tout juste de terminer cette toile. Elle est une reproduction d'une aquarelle de Charles Penny. J'ai découvert que recréer une aquarelle avec de l'huile n'est pas une mince affaire! Créée à l'huile sur toile montée, l'étude est intitulée "Pink Wallflowers".

The Pavilion on a winter morning

I've painted this picture for a Christmas contest. I did not win… and I'm very happy about it! This allowed me to hang it in my house. It represents the pavilion located in the Peace Park in Hopkinsville KY. I put some snow so it would looks a little bit more like Christmas but I didn't want to put anything else. It is oil on canvas and it's titled "The Pavilion on a winter morning".

J'ai fait cette peinture dernièrement pour un concours de Noël. Je ne l'ai pas gagné… mais j'en suis bien contente! Cela m'a permis de l'accrocher dans la maison. Elle représente le pavillon situé dans le "Peace Park" à Hopkinsville KY. J'ai ajouté de la neige pour faire plus "Noël" mais je n'ai pas voulu mettre autre chose. The Seeing off Pine

My brother-in-law has done many trips in China and he always came back with all kinds of souvenirs. Once, I was going through all his China's postcards and I really liked the one where we could see a "giant Bonsai". This painting found its way in my daughter's home. It is oil on canvas and it's titled "The seeing off Pine" (the photo was taken at Mount Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) in the province of Anhui, China.

Mon beau-frère a fait plusieurs voyages en Chine et rapportait toute sorte de souvenirs. En regardant les cartes postales provenant de ce pays, j'ai bien aimé celle où l'on pouvait apercevoir un bonsaï "grosseur nature". Cette peinture a trouvé le gîte chez ma fille. Créée à l'huile sur toile montée, l'étude est intitulée "The seeing off Pine"(photo prise au mont Huangshan (la montagne jaune) dans la province d'Anhui en Chine.

L'école de grand-maman

This is a study from a painting of Canadian painter Richard Boutin. It is oil on canvas and shows the soft colors of spring. The study is titled "L'école de grand-maman" (Grammas' school).

Seulement une mémoire

This is one of my first painting made in 2001. It is a study from a painting of Canadian painter Gordon Ladd. It is oil on canvas and shows the beautiful fall colors that the province of Quebec is so fond of. The study is titled "Seulement une mémoire" (just a memory).

Cette peinture est une de mes premières faites en 2001. C'est l'étude d'une peinture du peintre canadien Gordon Ladd. Créée à l'huile sur toile montée, elle démontre les multiples couleurs de l'automne dont la province de Québec jouit dès septembre. L'étude est intitulée "Seulement une mémoire".
